Manuae, French Polynesia March 26. 2017

The night before arriving at Manuae, good fishing!   A small tuna and with the same lure also a squid!   Sundown with cloud monster in front of the sun   Manuae, an atoll without a passage inside. We arrive

at the village and see a sailboat and what looks like   a dock. But we can't find any passage circling around   the atoll. The mystery is revealed in Maupihaa by Hio   Until then we were baffled and no answer from above

The dock we saw are the remains of a cottage on stilts. The cottage is gone but the stilts remain and give the impression of an abandonend dock. The sailboat (Japanese owned and flagged) foundered on the reef and was pulled inside by the locals with winches and rollers (coconuts), then it was repaired and serves now in the lagoon as a transport vessel to bring the copra to the village from the coconut groves further away. But it will never leave the lagoon!
