| The dock we saw are the remains of a cottage on stilts. The cottage is gone but the stilts remain and give the impression of an abandonend dock. The sailboat (Japanese owned and flagged) foundered on the reef and was pulled inside by the locals with winches and rollers (coconuts), then it was repaired and serves now in the lagoon as a transport vessel to bring the copra to the village from the coconut groves further away. But it will never leave the lagoon! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
